Merry Christmas Darlings

The day has finally arrived my lovely sinners. That's right, as my favorite New Jersey housewife Melissa Gorga says "It's Jesus' Birthday!" I hope you were all perfectly sinful this year and are reaping the rewards. I hope all of you got exactly what you wanted this year, whether it be an ipad, a new phone or a Christmas kiss from your crush. Weirdly enough I got what I wanted, well not everything I wanted but I have no complaints. So as a special Christmas gift from yours truly I am giving my loyal sinners a special gift. All month I have been posting Christmas songs, but today I'm giving you my personal favorite Christmas song. My Only Wish (This Year) by Miss Britney Spears is totally underated and should be considered a Christmas classic. Not only does the song dictate my Christmas wish, which didn't come true :(, but it is beautifully catchy and wonderful. So my new Christmas wish this year is for all of you. I wish you all the best this Christmas day. I hope you're eating some scrumpticious turkey, or tofurkey for you veggies, drink as much as possible, and snuggle up close to that special someone. Christmas comes but once a year, so I hope you make the most of this day.

The Art of Gift Giving

Dear Sinners

Continuing with our Christmas themed posting todays post is about the etiquette of Gift-Giving, which is perfect because tonight I will be exchanging gifts with my friends.  I am a firm believer that a present directly discribes how much you know and love a person. Gifts are an intergal part of the holidays and no one wants a crappy present so here are a couple of rules when giving a gift.
Firstly, a gift should be something the gift reciever wants or likes. Why give a gift that no one would like? How would you feel if your mom gave you a Maple Leafs jersey when everyone knows your favorite team is the Habs? (and for you non-hockey fans, how would you feel if you got a Justin Bieber CD when you would rather have a Rihanna one). This requires some knowledge of your gift-reciever. Get to know what their interests are, what shows they like, their favorite stores. This inside knowledge of your gift-reciever (which for the purpose of this post will from now on be referred as the "GR") will greatly increase your chances of a merry Christmas.
Secondly a gift should come from the heart. It should have some meaning and importance. The price tag shouldn't matter, although nothing says "I love you" like expensives luxuries. But nonetheless a gift should have some personal meaning. It could be a reference to an inside joke, or a special moment the two of you shared.
The last important aspect when gift-giving is don't go crazy searching for the perfect gift. Every gift is different. Sometimes a gift idea just comes to you and you know exactly what you're going to buy. Other times you have to rack your brain trying to find something your GR would like. This frustration and anger associated with gift-giving is completely normal and at times may put a blemish on your Christmas spirit, but don't worry sometimes the perfect gift will come to you. Sometimes you just need to shop around and window shop to get other gift ideas. This year I had friends that I knew exactly what I was getting them and others I struggled for days trying to think of something. I didn't get my mother's gift until a few days ago, and the only reason I found it was because I was strolling through the mall and I happened to see it. So dont lose any sleep over gift-giving; it'll just come to you. And when in doubt just get a gift card from their favorite store. Gift cards are a really distant and vague gift, but they'll still enjoy it.
So there you are. Three important rules to finding the perfect gift for you loved ones. Christmas is a stressful time for everyone, but don't let the stress from gift-giving get to you. Just remember to take your time, get something your GR would like, and something that has a special meaning and you'll GR will love it.

Sweet Tunes Tuesday: Christmas Edition

Well hello Sinners. It is officially Christmas week, and continuing with our little tradition I present another Christmas classic. This time from country cutie Taylor Swift. Christmas Must be Something More is actually an incredible song. It incorporates the fun cuteness that Taylor Swift is famous for, but if you listen to the lyrics you'd see that this songs cuts out all the bullshit and commercialism of Christmas. It bluntly calls out everyone for ignoring the real purpose of Christmas: the birth of Jesus. All the other Christmas carols are about finding love, kissing under the mistletoe, and peace on earth, and don't get me wrong I love all those things, but it's refreshing to hear a song that doesn't promote consumerism and the commercialization of Christmas. So here it is. As always sinners, enjoy.

All I Want for Christmas is Everything

Dear Sinners,

There is officially 12 more days till Christmas which doesn't leave a lot of time for shopping. Luckily I've done all my Christmas shopping, but for those procrastinating sinners don't worry there's still time to get all the presents off your shopping list. And if for some reason you don't know what to get your loved ones, I'm posting my official Christmas Wish list. Trust me if it's on this list they'll love it.

My hEVANly Christmas List

  1. Knit Wear:  Christmastime is the perfect time to crack out the knit wear. Sweaters, cardigans, scarves the list goes on and on. Can't you just imagine the soft knitted fabric of a white pullover sweater brushing against body? Now knit wear is a unisex item since there are some great clothes for both genders. This item will be perfect for your mom or your fashionally challenged boyfriend. Use this holiday to transform your boyfriend from fashion victim to fashion god. H&M has a great collection of knit wear and there is currently a sale on, so put down the eggnog and rush your ass to the mall before all the good sizes are gone. BTW I'm a small, just saying.

2. Music: Music is universal. Find me one person that doesn't appreciate music and I'll give up gossip forever. Can't do it huh? Indulge the music lover on your list. Go old school and buy them their favorite album, can't go wrong with Adele 21. Or if they're into downloading you can go for an iTunes gift card. Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like the sound of legally purchased music.

3.  Movies/Television: 2011 was filled with a plethora of movies, some bad (I'm talking about you Jack and Jill) and some amazing. Get the future movie critic on your list some of they're favorite films. My pick is Crazy, Stupid, Love such an adorable, hilarious, and sweet movie. HMV is having a crazy sale right now. $10 movies. Also in this category is TV shows. Christmas break is the perfect time to catch up on your favorite shows, and since watching shows online hurts people's eyes why not buy a season of their favorite show. I need Gossip Girl season 4 to complete my collection, but other noteworthy shows are True Blood, Greys Anatomy, Glee, and The Big Bang Theory. Here's a thought, if you buy a series for your crush, now you have an excuse to come over snuggle on the couch and watch all 22 episodes.

4. Electronics: Now I'm not a electronics genius, but you can't go wrong with an iPad, mp3 player, laptop, kindle.

5. Lindsay Lohan Comeback: Now this may be the trickiest gift to get but I think its something the world would enjoy. Poor Lindsay had a terrible year, from her legal drama to her Playboy photoshoot isn't it about time she made a comeback? There's still hope.

So there it is, the perfect Christmas list. Remember only 12 more days till Christmas. I better see all these wonderful things under my tree Christmas morning.

Sweet Tunes Tuesday: Christmas Carols

Hello Sinners,

First off I know it's not Tuesday but bare with me. I haven't posted in a lifetime due to that menstrual bitch school and I promised you all my favorite Christmas song picks so for the purpose of this post today is officially Tuesday.

So today is a double entry due to my ghost like behavior courtesy of Justin Bieber and the Glee Cast. Normally Christmas songs are ballady and sombre about some chick wishing for her lover (which I do appreciate, don't get me wrong) but Christmas really is a joyful and jolly time. So I'm giving you two upbeat songs that'll get your booty shaking while getting you in the Christmas spirit.

The first song is Little Drummer Boy ft. Busta Rhymes. 3 words: Justin Bieber rapping. You're welcome.

The second song is Extraordinary Merry Christmas by my lover Darren Criss and Lea Michele. I dare you to not  dance in your seat. Can't do it right?
